Surgery Update

Robert had his surgery yesterday. Everything went fine. They kept in the recovery room forever! The doctor comes out to tell me that everything went well, and to let me know about after surgery instructions. Then he tells me that Robert will be moved out of the post surgery recovery room to the other whatever-the-crap-it's-called-room in, like, twenty minuets and I can see him there. They will call me back to see him in thirty mins. max, he tells me. An HOUR later I finally get to see my husband. I'm sorry, but telling me everything is fine does not work on easing the worry if I CAN'T SEE HIM MY DAMN SELF!!!! Especially if I was suppossed to see him FORTY GOD DAMN MINUETS AGO!!! It turns out everything was fine and that they were just waiting for a bed in room number 2 to open up, but for crying out loud, that hour was FAR more torturous than the hour he was under the freaking knife!

Anyways, he is okay, just very sore and swollen. He keeps an ice pack on him almost always and is actually electing to take the pills, something I thought I was going to have to force down his throat. He is already bored and it hasn't been 24 hours yet. Poor boy. And he is home by himself because, hey, one of us has to bring home some money! I think he is sleeping right now. Dawn said she would swing over and check on him this afternoon and make sure he has some lunch, so that makes me feel a little better. Hopefully I will get out of here at a decent time so I can get home to my boy before he gets himself hurt trying to do too much.
